A ferocious first-half ended with Wales leading 8-6 thanks to a George North try and a Leigh Halfpenny penalty kick. With Johnny Sexton spending 10 minutes in the sin-bin, George North bagged a second try just after the break. Ireland pushed hard in the second-half, but could only add one further penalty kick to their two earlier scores. A late try from replacement Jamie Roberts sealed the win for Wales.
