England earned their first win of the Borthwick era with a 31-14 bonus-point victory over Italy at Twickenham. A confident first-half display saw England take a 19-0 lead against a disappointing Italy, with tries from Jack Willis, Ollie Chessum and Jamie George. After the break, Italy came out with far more purpose and scored a quick try through Marco Riccioni. England quickly regained control and were awarded a penalty try for an Italy infringement at the maul. The visitors threatened again when they got a second try through Alessandro Fusco in the 62nd minute.
