Scotland survived a late fightback from Italy to secure a 26-14 bonus-point victory at BT Murrayfield. Italy were put under huge pressure in the first half as the home side dominated possession and territory. Tries from Duhan van der Merwe and Blair Kinghorn put the Scots into a 12-6 lead at half-time. Kinghorn burst over the line shortly after the break to score his second try. Heading into the final quarter, Tommaso Allan scored a try for Italy in the 62nd minute. Paolo Garbisi then struck a penalty kick to bring Italy within one score of Scotland and set up a tense finale. Italy had chances in the dying moments to snatch the contest, but were ultimately let down by a knock-on near the line.
