Scotland v France Match Reports
France edged Scotland 20-16 in a tense and dramatic Six Nations encounter at Murrayfield. A close first half ended 13-10 in the home side's favour, with Ben White scoring a try for Scotland and Gael Fickou replying for France. The visitors survived a difficult patch either side of half-time after losing Uini Antonio to the sin-bin for ten minutes. Finn Russell struck his third penalty kick just before the hour mark to give Scotland the first points of a tentative second half. Louis Bielle-Biarrey injected some excitement when he ran through to collect his own chip and score a try for France in the 70th minute. Thomas Ramos converted the try to give France a one-point lead. Ramos struck a penalty kick five minutes later, which meant that Scotland needed a try to regain the lead. Scotland pushed hard and thought they had found the winning try in the last play of the match, but the ball was adjudged to have been held up over the line.
