Scotland held on to beat Wales 27-26 in a topsy-turvy Six Nations contest at the Principality Stadium. The visitors had built a dominant 20-0 lead by half-time, with tries from Pierre Schoeman and Duhan van der Merwe, plus two penalties from Finn Russell. Wales, meanwhile, had struggled to build any meaningful pressure in a difficult first half. After the break, things initially got worse for the home side when Duhan van der Merwe sped through to extend Scotland's lead to 27 points. Replacement scrum-half Tomos Williams then began to spark life into the Wales attack. Tries from James Botham, Rio Dyer, Aaron Wainwright and Alex Mann brought Wales to within a single point of Scotland.
