England scored seven tries as they comfortably beat Italy 47-24 at the Allianz Stadium. An entertaining first half saw England score three tries through Tom Willis, Tommy Freeman and Ollie Sleightholme. But Italy stayed in the contest, trailing 21-17 at half-time thanks to tries from Ange Capuozzo and Ross Vintcent. After the break, Marcus Smith ran clear to score England's fourth try and secure a bonus point. Moments later, Tom Curry drove across the line to further extend the home side's lead. Sleightholme got his second and England's sixth try in the 53rd minute as the game slipped away from Italy. The match then entered a flat period before Tommaso Menoncello got a try back for the visitors in the 71st minute.
