Scotland began their Six Nations campaign with a 31-19 bonus-point win over a plucky Italy at Murrayfield. The home side made a fast-paced start and scored two tries inside the opening 10 minutes through Rory Darge and Huw Jones. Ben White added a third try to give Scotland a 19-9 halftime lead, with Italy's first-half points all coming from the boot of Tommaso Allan. After the break, Allan kicked a fourth penalty to bring Italy within 7-points of Scotland. The visitors then drew level when Juan Ignacio Brex scored an interception try, which Allan duly converted. The momentum switched in the final quarter as Jones scored two more tries to complete his hat-trick and put Scotland back in command.
