Ireland came from behind to beat Italy 20-13 in a high-tempo, entertaining contest at the Aviva Stadium. The home side enjoyed the majority of early possession but were unable to build a lead, with Jamie Osborne's try their only score of the first half. Italy grew in confidence and led 10-5 at half-time thanks to Giacomo Nicotera's try and Paolo Garbisi's boot. After the break, Jack Conan went over to draw Ireland level and calm some nerves. A period of end-to-end rugby followed as both teams attacked relentlessly. Robert Baloucoune made the breakthrough in the 57th minute, stepping his way across the line to put the hosts in front. Jack Crowley and Paolo Garbisi traded penalties just after the hour mark as Ireland's lead remained at seven points.
