Players’ names are set to feature on the back of shirts for all teams in this season’s Six Nations Championship.
England, Scotland and Italy displayed names during last season’s tournament, but Wales, Ireland and France are now ready to follow suit in what would be a first for the men’s competition.
An agreement has been reached in principle, the PA news agency understands, with a final green light awaited.
The competition kicks off in Marseille on February 2 with an eagerly-anticipated opener between France and Ireland.
The following day’s action sees England tackling Italy in Rome and Wales hosting Scotland in Cardiff.
